Dental Veneers vs Crowns or Tooth Implants
Porcelain veneers can also give a more natural appearance to the teeth and can be used to cover discolored or malformed teeth.
Dental veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored material that are attached to the front surfaces of teeth to enhance their appearance. These veneers are often made of porcelain or resin composite material and permanently bond to your teeth.
While some people might only receive one veneer for a chipped or broken tooth, many others get six to eight veneers to achieve a symmetrical smile. Veneers are most often applied to the top eight front teeth.

No-prep veneers are around $800 to $2000 for each tooth and can last up to seven years. Traditional veneers are usually the most economical option in the long term.
If taken care of properly, veneers can last for around 10 years. They may have to be replaced after this period.
Your veneers’ cost will depend on many factors, including the type of veneers that you choose, the brand of dentist that is available, the cost of living in your area, and the level of expertise of the dentist.

The Procedure
You will need to make an appointment with your dentist before you can get your veneers. Braces may be necessary in some cases if your teeth are uneven or crooked.
Your dentist may take X-rays to assess your dental health. The dentist will look for signs such as tooth decay, gum disease, or the need to root canals. You may not be eligible for veneers if you have any of the following conditions.
Your dentist will trim about half of the tooth to determine the size of your veneers. They use a grinding tool to remove the enamel. Next, they will take an impression (or mold) of your teeth. The lab will then create your veneers from the mold. Your lab will usually return your veneers within one to two weeks of your dentist creating your mold.
The second appointment, where veneers are applied, usually lasts no more than 30 minutes. However, if local anesthetics are used it may take up to thirty minutes.
The recovery process is quicker than other procedures. Once the veneers have been cemented on, and any anesthetics have worn off, you can eat as normal and continue to chew. Keep your tongue and cheeks clean while the anesthetic wears off.
Sometimes, the veneers may feel rough right after they are applied. but that’s not a problem, your dentist can smoothen them out.
